Snyder drops the hammer on Phantoms coach. Can the AHL affiliate still be salvaged?

Tis the season for miracles, and the Flyers brass just may be giving hope to those passionate Phantoms fans.  As the players and coachers seem to be in opposite ends, with the ringleader of the players already removed(Maroon).  The puppet master himself, Greg Gilbert, was canned as head coach from the Phantoms tonight.  I don't know anything about the situation except that its a giant cluster fuck right now, so this move is no real surprise.  If this ordeal in Glenn Falls has taught us anything though, its that Cote may be as bad a coach as he was a player.

Eric Wellwood sent back to prison, umm, Phantoms

Poor Eric, guy works his ass off in 3 games and gets the boot back to the national disaster happening in Glenn Falls, NY.  Playing mostly with captain Mike Richards and a combo of either JVR or Nodl for his first three games, Wellwood was a healthy scratch last night after the return of Danny Briere's suspension.  Eric had the primary assist in the game winning goal against the lowly Islanders game on Saturday for his only point of the season.  Not that I think he shouldn't be sent down, because in all logic he should.  But with how things in the Phantoms organization are right now, its not really what any player wants to look forward too.  Hopefully, Wellwood brings his NHL experience back to the AHL and can keep the stats up.

Also, the Flyers are playing golf at some of the most prestigious courses in the country as a bonding exercise in their three days off.  So thats another little slap in the face for him.
